Academy Philosophy
OBGC Soccer Academy is committed to providing a long-term development plan for players of all levels. Our goal is to positively impact the development of youth in our community by providing soccer and life-enriching opportunities to young players of all ages and playing abilities that create a lifelong passion for the sport of soccer. We will strive to play an active role in the leadership, development, and personal growth of our players and coaches with an ultimate goal as a club and as a soccer program to encourage, inspire, and empower each player and coach to reach the highest level possible within the game and in life while helping create leaders and individuals that will inspire others to do the same.
As a club and an organization, we strive to reach the highest level of success for the players and our teams. Success is not promoted in just simply winning, but also in the development of the players both on and off the field and in all aspects of life.

Coaching Philosophy
We want players within the program to play with freedom and express themselves both individually and as part of a team. This must be achieved in the correct manner, which requires our players to be both confident and brave in possession of the ball.

The playing philosophy at OBGC Soccer Academy is to enjoy having the ball, make good decisions when in possession of the ball, and learn from mistakes that do happen.

We want our players to be comfortable in a number of formations with a style of play that is consistent throughout the whole club.
Coaching will be structured through enjoyable sessions and taught in a number of styles that must demand, enthuse, guide, challenge, and excite players. We believe that the enthusiasm and knowledge from the coaches translate to the players and in turn, translates onto the field.
All should embrace winning, however it must be achieved in a style and manner that reflects our values. Although we educate the players to play as part of a team, all players must also understand the roles and responsibilities they have within the team structure as individuals.
Vision
To provide a unique experience to community members that achieves the highest level of youth soccer training and game day experience that we can offer. We develop our coaches so they can develop players as educators, while instilling the core values of leadership, teamwork, responsibility, and accountability into our players in an environment where mistakes help us learn. Players and coaches have positive experiences participating and spectators have fun watching their players learn to succeed.
We aim to provide a successful program where players can learn in an environment free from the pressure of outcome, with a focus on process that ultimately leads to high performance. The mindset developed in the player is open to making mistakes and learning from their experiences while being encouraged to be creative and to play without fear of mistakes.
Summary
The mission of any Soccer program is to develop character, instill values, teach respect, and develop confidence to help youth players reach their potential in life. We just happen to use soccer as the tool to achieve this mission. The formative years of 6-14 should be spent honing technique and encouraging self-expression, best accomplished in practices where ball contacts can be maximized. This is also a time when a lifelong love of soccer should be nurtured and not result in a loss of interest. We want players within the club to be in the best possible environment. We aim to focus on the best practices on the inside and within the club's program to develop an excellent Soccer Program within the Club and Community.
